World Champion Junior Golfer

Wednesday, June 30, 2010

World Champion Junior Golfer, Australia’s Karl Vilips gains his first corporate support and settles on the Gold Coast.

(30, June 2010, Brisbane) 8 Year-old Golf Prodigy Karl Vilips is certainly on track to defend his title of world champion for his age group when he hopes to compete in a series of junior golf tournaments in the United States next month with the assistance of his first corporate supporter, Coldwell Banker Australia.

This talented young lad has received recognition from the likes of Greg Norman and is tipped to be a future adult golf champion. He has this past week moved to The Gold Coast from interstate and has also accepted an offer of junior membership at Sanctuary Cove Golf Club, one of Australia’s finest golf clubs.

Alex Caraco, CEO, Coldwell Banker® Real Estate Australia said:  “We recognize Karl’s talent and dedication and his potential of becoming Australia’s future champion and we hope that our support will provide a percentage of the funding he needs to defend his title in the USA next month”.

Coldwell Banker® Real Estate Franchise has 24 offices in Australia. The Coldwell Banker®  brand has a global reach with 3,300 offices in 49 countries and territories. Franchise Times magazine’s prestigious Top 200 issue has ranked Coldwell Banker No 1 in real estate for nine straight years.

Karl’s father Paul Vilips said:  “Although we haven’t yet secured all the funds needed for Karl to compete at this year’s World Championships, Karl is delighted to accept the support of Coldwell Banker® Australia. Their support will go a long way in trying to get Karl to this year's Callaway Junior World Championships in July and defending his US Kids World Championship title in Pinehurst, North Carolina in August”.

Karl received his first plastic clubs at the age of two and by the age of 6 started playing in sub-junior tournaments, culminating with his having won the 2009 US Kids World Championships at age 7. He is also on his school’s cricket, swimming & athletics teams, and is a keen skate-boarder.

Paul Vilips also said “Without the passionate support of companies such as Coldwell Banker, Australia's brightest sporting talent are unable to compete at World Championship level”.
